This Rain/Raindrops Detection Sensor is a weather and humidity module compatible with Arduino or any microcontroller, operating at 3.3–5V DC. It detects raindrops and provides both digital and analog outputs for easy interfacing.
Features:
- Made from high-quality FR-4 double-layer material with nickel-plated surface for anti-oxidation, excellent conductivity, and long-lasting performance
- Large detection area: 5.5 × 4.0 cm
- Sensitivity adjustable via potentiometer
- Dual output:
- Digital output (DO): Switch signal (0 or 1)
- Analog output (AO): Voltage proportional to rainfall
- Equipped with a fixed mounting hole for easy installation
- Strong comparator output with good waveform and high driving capacity (>15 mA) using LM393 wide-voltage comparator
- Operating voltage: 3.3–5 V DC
- Dimensions: 5.5 × 4.0 × 0.2 cm
Usage:
- When no raindrops are on the sensor plate, the DO output is HIGH and the connected device (e.g., indicator LED) is off.
- When raindrops fall, the DO output goes LOW, activating the indicator.
- AO output can be connected to a microcontroller’s ADC pin to measure rainfall intensity.
- DO TTL output can also be used for rain detection triggers in microcontroller projects.
